Who is at Risk for Dry AMD
Dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) can develop in many individuals, though certain factors may increase the likelihood of developing the condition.

How Does MacuMira Work?
MacuMira uses a specialized device that delivers a gentle patented microcurrent through closed eyelids. This microcurrent therapy is designed to support retinal health in patients with dry AMD.
A typical treatment schedule includes four 32-minute sessions during the first 2 weeks, followed by maintenance treatments approximately every 3 months, depending on your doctor’s recommendation.
The procedure is comfortable, painless, and conveniently performed at your optometric clinic.

Is MacuMira Effective?
Clinical studies have demonstrated promising results for patients receiving MacuMira treatment for dry AMD.
In its clinical trial, participants experienced measurable improvements in vision, with many patients showing noticeable gains on standard eye chart testing. Some individuals may notice changes early in the treatment process, while optimal results are often seen after completing the initial series of sessions.

What to Expect During Treatment
The MacuMira device is similar in appearance to equipment commonly used during an eye examination.
Before treatment begins, Pam our technician will place small adhesive electrode pads on each side of the head. Disposable protective items, such as a cap and gloves, may also be provided to help maintain a clean and hygienic treatment environment.
Your appointment is a duration of 1hr, including setup, with the treatment session lasting about 30–32 minutes.
Once the treatment is complete, the electrodes are removed and the area is gently cleaned. All equipment is thoroughly sanitized between patients.
We aim to make the experience as comfortable and relaxing as possible during your visit, with comfortable reclined seating, as well as, optional white noise and/or relaxing ambient sounds designed to promote an even greater peaceful experience.
